‘How long until we start high school?” was the most common comment from Year 3 boys from around the peninsula enjoying an experiential day at St Paul’s Catholic College Manly.
Year 11 peer support students put their leadership skills to the test assisting teachers in a wide range of activities from cooking biscuits, to making imaginary monsters, learning about engineering by modeling paper bridges, completing science experiments and playing musical instruments. It was an action packed day for all Year 3 boys!
St Paul’s aimed to show Year 3 boys something of what high school is about that the foundations learn in Primary school are built upon rather than abandoned in their later schooling.
Pictured is Year 11 peer support student Mitchell and the delightful Byron Worthington & Callum McPhee of Year 3 at St Keirans who was very enthusiastic about taking part in high school science activities!
