St. Paul’s Adolescents Celebrate Their Individuality

Do you love going to horror movies but at the same time hate that you feel scared?

Who am I? Who are we? and how do we interact? Year 11 St. Paul’s students were posed with these questions and spent a day at Freshwater Surf Club ascertaining the answers. ‘Peer Power’ have clearly mastered the art of communicating with adolescents and successfully delivered the seminar using animation, humor and personal stories.

“By learning about our personality traits, our strengths and challenges, it might help us understand which career will suit us best” said student Michael Tout.

If enthusiastic and outgoing student Allan Pynsent arrived at the scene of an uninjured cycle rider he would probably say “That was hilarious, can you do it again” because he is a “Dominant Motivator” personality type whereas “Togetherness” personality type Alex Sidoti of Cromer, would be more inclined to ask if the rider is alright and if they would like a big hug due to his calm and thoughtful nature.

Year 11 Adviser Mr Paul MacGee, who is currently seeking prefect leaders, commented “the leadership day has given the Year 11 students a great start to their year as 2008 Senior Leaders of the College. It also was interesting to study students from a very different perspective which can also be of help pastorally”.
