Farewell Year 12 - Class of 2005

We farewelled Year 12, The Class of 2005 on Thursday September 22nd. We had a great day together. The boys were extremely well behaved and entertained us all with their music and fancy-dress outfits. During the farewell assembly Year 12 presented the College with a beautiful Sun-Dial which we will place in the grounds of the Palace. It will, no doubt, become part of our heritage and people in years to come will wander through our gardens and look at the sun-dial and read the plaque which will say “Presented to the College by the Class of 2005”. Thank you Year 12, it was a very thoughtful and insightful gesture.

Wwe also held the Graduation Mass in the Cardinal Cerretti Chapel during the evening of September 22nd. Mass was celebrated by Fr. Jim who knows the boys really well, having spent a great deal of time with them on retreat. It was a memorable evening, melancholy yet uplifting, joy tinged with sadness and very, very special.

Thank you to our musicians led by Mr. Bresnahan and Ms. Delaney. They sang and played beautifully and made a great contribution to the special atmosphere of the evening. Thanks also go to Ms. Hughes who coordinated the liturgy and to Mr. Cox, Ms. Hearn and Mr. Gleeson who worked with the boys and staff to make sure that everything ran as smoothly as it did. Ms. Amber ensured that our Year 11 families had provided supper for the 200 people in attendance. This was a big ask, but Year 11 rose to the challenge and everyone was most impressed and appreciative.
