The College House System
There are four College Houses which take their names from the four Gospel writers: Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. Each House also has a designated colour:
Matthew - Blue
Mark - Green
Luke - Red
John - Yellow.
Every boy is placed in a House on his first day of school and he remains with that house throughout his time at St Paul’s. Brothers are always placed in the same House.
A House Competition runs throughout the year. The annual College Athletics, Surf, Swimming and Cross-Country Carnivals are the feature events, with points being awarded on a 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th basis. There is a wide range of other sporting and cultural events which provide every student with the opportunity to represent his House, regardless of ability. House points are even awarded to the House with the best disciplinary record throughout the year.
At the conclusion of the academic year, a perpetual trophy is awarded to the winning House.
